Will is shocked to spy the church's esteemed reverend (Richard Roundtree) making a play for Vivian (Daphne Maxwell Reid).
When Philip accidentally sits on Nicky's pet rabbit, he encourages the family to attend church to rid them of their sins. However, the reverend misinterprets Vivian's devotion to the church, and in a moment of passion, declares his feelings for her. Meanwhile, Carlton and Ashley find themselves in competition when a position arises to sing solo at the Easter services. Eventually, Nicky finds out the truth about his rabbit from Philip, but is untraumatized, accepting that it is a part of life, but comically notes, "What a way to go."
