Jeffrey Allen Townes (born January 22, 1965 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) better known by his stage name DJ Jazzy Jeff or simply Jazz, is an American actor, DJ and record producer who portrayed Jazz, Will's best friend in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Townes is best known for being one-half of the hip hop duo, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince with Will Smith, serving as the DJ.
